Coach Gennrich began as the Head Coach of the Polar Bears in 2001 after starting with the program as a volunteer assistant for a year under Coach Dave Moe. Before coming to Hortonville, he spent time as a middle school coach in Winona, MN as well as coaching in Little Chute, WI and Merrill, WI.

As a competitor he was a 2x State qualifier, in 1988 and 1989, for Merrill High School under Hall of Fame coach Roger Wendorf. Collegiately he was a 3-year starter and 2x All Conference football player for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Under Coach Gennrich, the Hortonville Polar Bears have had 47 state qualifiers, 24 state place winners, and six State Champions. Coach Gennrich has also watched many of his wrestlers go on to compete at the NCAA level with huge success.

Most recently Eric Barnett is a 2x NCAA DI All-American with the University of Wisconsin Badgers. Luke Rynish earned 3 NCAA Division II runner-up finishes for the University of Wisconsin Parkside Rangers and Tyler Jentz wrestled his way to an NCAA Division III runner-up finish for Coe College CoHawks (IA).  

In the 2015-2016 season, the Polar Bears were Regional, and Team Sectional Champs qualifying for the Team State wrestling tournament.

His 2022-2023 team qualified for team sectionals and finished as team sectional runners-up. Coach Gennrich has been voted as the Fox Valley Association Conference Coach of the Year for the 2015-2016 season and was selected as the District 4 Coach of the Year in 2012.

Tim Demars

Assistant Varsity Coach

Coach DeMars began coaching for the Polar Bears in the 2018-19 season. Coach DeMars is originally from Neenah where he attended Neenah High School and wrestled under Hall of Fame Coach Dave McCarthy. He wrestled all 4 years with 3 years on varsity.  He accumulated 98 wins in those 3 years on varsity topped off by his 40-4 record his senior year. In his Senior Year Coach DeMars placed 6th at the state tournament pinning a defending state champ in his 1st round. After High school he attended the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh were he wrestled for 2 years. In his 1st 2 years of wrestling in college Coach DeMars accumulated 35 wins and was ranked 7th in DIII his sophomore year. After college he began volunteer coaching at Neenah under Dave McCarthy in 2006 thru 2010. Coach DeMars was then out of coaching due to work until he joined the Polar Bears in 2018. 

Nick Stellato

Assistant Varsity Coach

Coach Stellato started coaching right after graduating from Shawano High School in 2007. He was a assistant coach with the high school team from 2008-2011, while also serving as the Head Youth Wrestling Coach in 2009. Coach Stellato then began coaching in Green Bay serving as the Head Middle School Coach at Red Smith Middle School for 2 seasons, he brought new life into the program increasing their numbers and had 2 youth state qualifiers and 1 place winner in his first season, and another youth state qualifier in his second season. Coach Stellato then moved up to the high school level becoming the JV Head Coach at Green Bay Preble in 13-14. In the 14-15 season coach Stellato moved on to become the lead assistant coach for Green Bay West/Southwest they had one of their best seasons in program history going 5-3 in the FRCC (3rd place Conference finish was the best in over 10 years) and winning a tournament as a team for the first time in over 10 years. After taking a break due to work schedules coach Stellato joined the Hortonville staff in 2021. In addition to coaching wrestling coach Stellato also had a successful run as a soccer coach at Clintonville High School turning them into a winning program.

Scott Cook

Assistant Varsity Coach

Coach Cook began as an assistant Coach in 2021 for Hortonville. As a competitor, he was a 4x State Qualifier 2014-2017, 2x place winner and 1x State Champion. In 2016 he placed 5th at USAW Nationals (Juniors Div). In 2020 he became a Collegiate All-American by placing 4th.
